Chief Seattle, Chief of the Suquamish, was a strong leader and great military tactician. In his day he smoothed the transition in Puget Sound from Native control to western control. The text on his image is from one of his most famous public addresses, which has become one the most well know and beloved Native speeches. It is a testament to the Native Americans ecological view of the world. |
